I've worked in Fairfax County Public Libraries since 2005, and served on the Employee Advisory Council for a couple of years as the representative for both Libraries and the Health Department. 

 

Advocacy is a important part of EAC. we meet each month with County Human Resources directors to discuss upcoming issues and get clarification of policies or directives. We request and receive various data points and policy clarifications to further assist EAC in supporting county staff.

 

My main concern as your EAC  representative is fostering open and respectful communication,  including celebrating staff accomplishments and providing tangible support to staff when issues arise.

 

EAC sponsors various morale boosters, including providing small appliances and support for team building at your work site.
